Privilege of Memory 1, oil on canvas board, 50cm x 60cm, 2019

DECEMBER 2019
I was delighted to exhibit at OSMAN’S XMAS BAZAAR at Studio 1.1 in Shoreditch, London which opened Thursday 5th Dec. 6-9pm and was part of Whitechapel Gallery First Thursdays.

My paintings The Privilege of Memory and Olley, Olley, Oxen Free are being exhibited along with work by 11 other artists as well as this year’s Bazaar artists Joshua and Emma RAFFELL . My fellow Scottish exhibitor and pal Olivia Irvine (who’s work Cabin was also in the show) travelled down to the PV and saw London pals for some arty festive cheer!

March 2017 – Deep Space Exhibition

Suture/Rupture, 2016, collage, ballpoint and acrylic on board

Deep Space

“We must be shown only enough to know that there is more, and to want that ‘more’ not to be disclosed. A prime agency of disclosure is the cut, which divides one shot from the next. The cut guarantees that both the preceding and the subsequent shots will function as structuring absences to the present shot. These absences make possible a signifying ensemble, convert one shot into a signifier of the next one, and the signified of the preceding one.”
– Kaja Silverman, Suture: the cinematic model

I’m delighted to be showing my work Suture/Rupture Map as part of Deep Space a group show at artist’s run space Studio 1.1. The work is made up of 4 smaller works and is an meditation on time, space and memory drawing on ideas from film theorist Kaja Silverman.
