Garden, morning geometry (2020)
Drawing and sgraffitto with rice ink and pencil on Claybord
(15cm x 15cm, 6in x 6in)
Morning, garden geometry is a drawing created in situ in my garden in Edinburgh during the Covid-19 lockdown. I used ink I made from black arborio rice, pencil and a sgraffito scratching technique on Claybord, a 100% archival board with a coating of kaolin clay that can be etched into. THIS WORK IS BEING SOLD AS PART OF THE #ARTISTSUPPORTPLEDGE
#ARTIST SUPPORT PLEDGE was set up by artist Matthew Burrows in response to the COVID-19 pandemic a result of which many artists (including myself) are without work and are seeing exhibitions and sales disappear.
HOW DOES IT WORK? Artists post images of their work on Instagram with the #artistsupportpledge, details of the work and price. If people are interested in buying they message (DM) the artist. Everytime an artist reaches £1000 ($1000) of sales, they pledge to buy £200 of work from another artist taking part in the Artist Support Pledge. Keep updated @artistsupportpledge. Repost and tell your friends, colleagues and collectors. Let generosity be infectious. #supportartists #covid19 #coronavirus #livegenerously
