GSA Open Studios! 11-6pm 4th Floor, 20 Trongate, Glasgow G1 5ES
This Saturday 23 students of MLitt Fine Art Practice (Painting & Drawing) at Glasgow School of Art will open our studios to show the work we have been developing since starting the course last September.
I’ve been working extra hard in the studio this month as Trimester 2 studio assessments are looming at the end of April and as a group MLitt Painting & Drawing are doing two group shows this month. The second one opens the 16th of April at WALL PROJECTS II, the Rope Works, Montrose (please see bel0w).
Look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
My artist’s statement…
How does the trace, memory, relic of one thing morph into another and form a path we follow? How do we use objects, materials and the spaces we inhabit to form our narratives?
My practice explores the fragmentary nature of identity and memory. Using a range of methods and materials I examine and map objects, architectural space and the transitional areas between inhabited space and nature.
I am interested in how the linear intersects with the non-linear and how our narratives of memory are formed and maintained.
APRIL 16TH SAVE THE DATE: PRIME – The 2016 art season opens at WALL PROJECTS II @ The Old Rope Works, Montrose with an interim Exhibition by the MLitt Painting & Drawing Masters students from Glasgow School of Art.
